Scallop Bay Shellfish Co produces high quality bay scallop, eastern oyster and hard clam seed at its facility in Pocasset, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. The hatchery was completed in March 2023, and seed of all three species was first produced that spring.

A state-of-the-art, fully automated microalgae production system grows up to 1,500 liters of seven different species of microalgae every day to feed the shellfish. All incoming water is filtered to 1 micron and UV-treated for biosecurity, and systems cover every stage — broodstock, larval, setting and postset — for consistent, biosecure seed production alongside research with partner institutions.
